red- eyed thornbill

Tasmanian Red-Eyed Thornbill, Acanthiza ewingii
Just by sheer chance I was able to catch this little guy in my garden this morning. I like this photo as even though it's supposed to be summer this has a feeling of autumn about it. There were quite a lot of them about feeding on large worms chattering away. They are so fast and tiny only 10cm, very hard to get a good photo of.

  1. Good on you! They are very hard to capture. A pity that the red eye is in the shade, but it gives nice contrast to the beak's silhouette :)
